New changes have been incorporated by the National Selection Committee, Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir have been allowed to rest for the forthcoming one-day tri-series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Both the players got injuries and hence left out, Sachin incurred a groin injury during his marathon knock of 200 during the second Test against Sri Lanka, and Gautam Gambhir is left out due to his knee injury.

India's test match with Bangladesh has become quite romantic, there was a big displeasure all over on the remarks alleged to be leveled by Sehwag to the effect that Bangladesh team is an ordinary one, which Bangladesh proved him wrong in this test, even though Tendulkar subsequently saved India from an embarrassing position, and India could manage to get 243 runs in the first inning. It is expected that Sehwag would refrain passing such remarks, which he probably innocently leveled.
