Noida: July 11, 2008 - There seems to be some headway in the Arushi-Hemraj murder case. Sources have told CNN-IBN that the Central Bureau of Investigation has recovered the murder weapon and parts of Arushi's mobile phone.
According to the sources Rajkumar, one of the suspects in the double murder case, revealed during a narco analysis test the details of the murder weapon and the mobile phone.
Rajkumar had reportedly also named Vijay Mandal, a domestic help picked up from the Talwar neighbourhood, as an accomplice in the murder case.
So the arrest of Arushi's father Dr Rajesh Talwar may have been a mistake.
Friday is a crucial day in the double murder case as the CBI custody of Rajkumar ends, as does the judicial custody of Dr Talwar and another suspect Krishna.
Arushi's father, Dr Talwar, might be freed or sent to judicial remand till the filing of the chargesheet on August 23.
CBI officials had also gone to the Talwar residence on Thursday and searched the terrace to look for possible clues like the murder weapon.
On June 28, CBI sought Rajkumar's custody for 15 days on the grounds that he had confessed to his crime and would lead the agency to crucial evidence like the murder weapon and the destroyed mobile phones.
