Washington: June 23, 2008, IR Summary- Senator Barack Obama and McCain are fighting neck to neck. Though Obama has an edge over McCain in many respects, most of the Americans prefer McCain to the President, they want white.
The Intelligent people understand that its not the color that counts but the color of the character and moral convictions. It is the duty of the people to pick up the best person as the President who could use his sharp brain and help the country and bring the wave of goodwill of America all over rather than creating more controversies within which it is surrounded at present.
The mentality of race and color should change with time, but if we go by majority voting, Obama stands better chances, since democrat and republican give equal marks to both Blacks and Whites.
But the people, who are to elect the President, don’t prefer white lady but when the deciding factor lies on two males, the Americans would definitely have more leaning to elect the White than Black.
The problem is that even though they understand the reality, still most of the people would go for the white President irrespective of the facts who is more experienced, who can deliver the goods and uplift the losing status of America?
Abraham Lincoln, a president who had less experience than Obama but he proved to be a great President. John F. Kennedy proved to be great President, but the American thinking is that the President is not necessarily to be the top intelligent, it is his cabinet that makes the decision and the govt. is run by them, hence they prefer White.
