Islamabad, Pakistan: June 10, 2008-International Reporter (IRS) – There are certain reports believed to be suggesting that Asif was carrying some medicine/tonic for his personal use which are permissible in Pakistan but not in Dubai.

If unani or ayurvedic medicines are treated as drugs in Dubai, it is unfortunate and the Pak Govt. must intervene and clarify that such unani medicines, if it is correct to believe, are in effect not drugs.

Such unani and ayurvedicc medicines are also openly sold in India manufactured by the trust of Hamdard and others who make the solutions of the medicines and export all over the world and if there is any confusion, the govt. of Pakistan should clarify their stand.

There looks to be some confusion that must be removed so as not to destroy the career of a great cricketer. There are certain Speculations that the government is getting involved to discuss the whole affair and also to know the quantity of the medicine carried by him.

It is a good step by the Pak Govt. to clear the clouds which look to have developed due to some misunderstanding of medicine and drugs.

Speculations are extensively active that the government is now involved in the case after senior PCB officials met Malik in Islamabad on Monday.
