
Mumbai: July 14, 2010 - Actor-filmmaker Aamir Khan surprised everyone by playing jazz drums at the music launch of his film Peepli Live in Mumbai.The actor was encouraged by the band members of Indian Ocean, and went on stage to enthrall the audience with his percussion skills.
Aamir even played Mumbai's favourite Dandiya beats to show us he can do it all.
Said the actor, "I used to think as a child that I would perform on stage with a band and finally I got an opportunity...thanks to Indian Ocean."
The music launch showcased live performances b the band Indian Ocean, as also Nagin Tanvir (theatre personality Habib Tanvir's daughter) and actor Raghubir Yadav. Villagers of Badwai joined Raghubir to sing Mahangaayi, their folk song which features in the film and is already a rage.
Peepli Live is an Aamir Khan Productions film directed by Anusha Rizvi. The film is a satire on farmers' suicides and thus the rural flavour to its songs. It releases on August 13, 2010.
