July 02, 2010 - Asin has earned the wrath of Kollywood for "ignoring the sentiments of the film industry and travelling to Sri Lanka" to take part in the shoot of her Bollywood film 'Ready', costarring Salman Khan.
The issue has been discussed at a committee meeting of the South Indian Film Artistes Association in Chennai recently. If sources are to be believed, many office bearers of the Nadigar Sangam have urged the management to blacklist the actress for her Sri Lankan visit.
"It is true that many members recommended disciplinary action against Asin for not respecting the sentiments of the industry. A decision will be taken and announced in a couple of days," SIFAA general secretary Radha Ravi said.
It may be recalled that a host of actors including super stars Amitabh Bachchan. Shah Rukh Khan and Kamal Haasan have refused to visit the island nation to take part in the IIFA extravaganza following a boycott call from the South Indian Film Industry.
