Haitian loss of lives tentatively exceeds over a lac

The fate of Haiti caused by the most powerful earthquake is unfortunate, deadly and painful, over 100,000 people are feared dead. Large number of people have lost their homes, injured and loitering on the streets and in fact the whole city has become a refugee camp; this earthquake, in fact, has  shaken the whole world, who wish to extend their practical sympathy and extend help to the victims of this great tragedy since they deserve urgent attention.

All buildings, governmental or otherwise including Presidential Palace, govt. and private offices,edcuational institues. hotel, hospitals and other residential places have become total ruins.

Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive told CNN “The casualties are so heavy that it is not possible to assess the number of casualties, the quake was of 7.0 magnitude and death toll primarily could be more than 100,000.”

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who canceled an Asia trip and returned to Washington early Thursday, compared the tragedy to the Asian tsunami which killed more than 220,000 people five years ago. Related article: Quake shatters Haiti's fragile recovery.

"The Indian Ocean tsunami was such a terrible tragedy and with such high loss of life. This will be a very high loss of life as well," she said. More
