Copenhagen: December 20, 2009- IR Summary/God Believers - Analysis by Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist

The climate treaty talks to limit emission risk have ultimately come to an end on Saturday morning after a prolonged fight between nations of all sizes and status, and the role of United States, India, China, Brazil and South Africa, was remarkably well balanced and contributed to the consensus of the Accord.

Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist and Lead Man of God Believers, World Peace & Earth Saving Mission. (WP&ESM), gave his impression with his final briefing to the members of the God Believers, that Copenhagen Accord has been drafted and declared as a final document of the Conference in which President Obama played an important role.

Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist further said:

“This document has left many questions open, the major being whether all 193 countries would seriously and strictly abide by it or not or whether they would ultimately show their readiness and willingness  to curb greenhouse gases from the world major emitters, as desired in the Accord. Whatever, the accord is largely successful beyond expectations.

“While briefing the result of two week talks, I can only say that at least 192 countries had taken the first successful step of participating in the talks irrespective of the results, this is first step of success; arguments and counter arguments are main parts of a conference, and it is expected that other steps shall automatically follow.

“There were vast differences among the nations on various aspects, those were ought to be, it’s not so easy to get a unanimous views of all at a particular issue, which affects their countries’ development. The accord was neither expected nor feasible under the differences of nations on many aspects of the global warming and emission cut.

“However, the final Accord is still encouraging though not the final solution, the conference is more or less successful because of intervention of President Obama, who contributed his valuable views that did carry an appreciable weight,” Dr. Raj Baldev said.

Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist continued his briefing: “President Obama’s arrival into a conference centre in the final hours did help to make the angry nations to soften their attitudes and became willing to produce a binding agreement curbing the surging global flow of greenhouse gases, as desired, his presence became a force to conclude the conference with a respectable and understandable conclusion in the form of an Accord.

“On Friday night, some leaders of various countries including India, China, Brazil, South Africa gave their powerful and logical views how to tackle the global warming? Their collective views did help building the agreeable atmosphere.

“On Saturday, some countries loudly intervened, challenging efforts to approve the accord. Another group, from Venezuela to Sudan, loudly fought the agreement.
‘Robert C. Orr, the United Nations assistant secretary general for policy and planning, said the “wild roller coaster ride” through the night was partly due to the authority of more than 120 heads of state being superimposed on a process normally driven by ministers and diplomatic protocols.

The document was ultimately refined. Those who used their canvassing include Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Mr. Ban, Mr. Err among others.

As per Mr. Orr, who has worked for the United Nations for several years, said that the meetings of the 28 leaders held on Friday were successful which were drawn together by the Danish chairman of the process, the meetings were well negotiated with positive views, and the credit partly also goes to Danish Chairman.

In short, the Accord is important and carries value and weight and in fact, the disappointing situation which had developed right from the beginning, changed dramatically into a good note of Accord, which codifies the commitments of individual nations to act on their own to tackle global warming.

“The deal is the result of joint efforts put by many diplomats on Friday after a dramatic moment in which Mr. Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton played a vital role to handle the division of opinions and the leaders of India, China, Brazil, South Africa played their excellent role to manage the situation in the larger interest of the world and the Earth Planet,: Dr. Raj Baldev, Cosmo Theorist said.
