CPI expels Speaker, PM asks Chatterjee to continue MIL/Agaencies, Jul 24, 2008
New Delhi, July 24, 2008 – IR Summary -After the UPA govt. succeeded in winning ‘No Confidence Motion’ which was excellently directed and controlled by CPI (M) veteran leader Somnath Chatterjee as speaker in the Lok Sabha on 22nd July, the CPI expelled him for having disobeyed his party’s directions wherein the party had asked him to act as member of their party and not as speaker of the Lok Sabha. Mr. Chatterjee refused to oblige his party and maintained the high dignity and tradition of the position of the Speaker. |
